Rukavishnikov Alexander Iulianovich (born in 1950) - sculptor, people's artist of the Russian Federation, member of the Russian Academy of arts, Professor. Master of monumental and easel compositions, sculptural portraits. He was awarded the order "badge of Honor" (1986) of the USSR, the order of Friendship (1995), Honor (2000) of the Russian Federation, laureate of Moscow, Russian and international competitions in monumental art.

 Permanent participant of all-Russian and international art exhibitions. Rukavishnikov's personal exhibitions were held in The Central house of artists and in the halls of the Russian Academy of arts in Moscow, in the Museum of modern art of Nassau (USA), in the Dilemann Gallery (Belgium) and in other museums and exhibition halls of the world.

 He teaches at the Moscow state academic art Institute named after V. I. Surikov: Professor (since 1994), head of the Department of sculpture (since 1995). Member of the working group at the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation on state awards and consideration of questions of assignment of honorary titles (since 2013). 

    He is a member of the Public Council for culture and art under the Minister of culture of the Russian Federation (since 2014). Secretary of the USSR Union of artists (1986 – 1991).  Awards (departmental and others): winner of the Lenin Komsomol Prize (1976), silver medal (1983) of the USSR Academy of arts, gold medal(1995) of the Russian Academy of arts, gold medal of the Union of artists of Russia, silver medal of the international exhibition "Spring salon" in the Grand Palais (1977, Paris), silver medal of the international exhibition "Spring salon" in the Grand Palais (1983, Paris), winner of The national award "Fame", established by the newspaper "Izvestia" (2007), gratitude to the Russian Academy of Sciences (2009). 

   Participant of Moscow, all-Russian, foreign and international exhibitions (since 1972). Solo exhibitions were held in many cities of Russia and foreign countries ( the Museum of modern art Nassau (USA), gallery of Dilemna (Belgium) and others).
