GENRE PAINTING

Rinat Kuramshin’s genre paintings were created in the epoch of Socialist Russia (USSR) of the second half of the XX century. Paintings of this period mainly depicted the life of the Russian province of 1970-1990.
Among his the most famous genre paintings:  "Hay Time", "Front song" "Washerwomen. Soldier's wives", "Mug of Milk", "Boy and Herd", "Horses on the River. Evening", "Girl and Geese", "Countryside Holiday", "Front Song", "Anna Akhmatova in Tsarskoye Selo", "Morning Road", "Bathing of Horses" and others. These paintings by the artist are vivid examples of the fine art of Soviet Russia, better known as "socialist realism".

Despite the fact that Rinat Kuramshin's genre paintings often reflected socialist life, Museum experts note that the ideology of communism was not the basis of the artist's work. The artist has always followed his own ideals in art. The color palette and picturesque manner of Rinat Kuramshin's paintings show us his commitment to the traditions of Russian impressionism. In his painting we can feel the influence of such artists as I. Levitan,

K. Korovin, V. Serov, S. Vinogradov, I. Grabar, S. Gerasimov,

K. Huon and others.

Through his art-works, Rinat Kuramshin tells us about his personal feeling of the surrounding reality. In his art-works, the artist depicts various people, closes friends and casual acquaintances with whom he happened to live in the same epoch, shows their everyday affairs, difficult times and happy moments of their lives.

Rinat Kuramshin's genre paintings are characterized by magnificent pictorial qualities, perfect academic drawing, original compositions, and an excellent sense of colour. Rinat Kuramshin has a great artistic gift that allows him to depict the emotional feelings of people, their hopes and joys, sadness and anxiety. His paintings also very delicately show the different shades and moods of nature.

Paintings and graphic works by Rinat Kuramshin took part in many international exhibitions and often received admiring reviews from experts, art critics, art collectors, museum specialists. His paintings were awarded medals and diplomas of the Russian Academy of Arts, Cambridge University, the Coordinating Council of Russian compatriots of Great Britain, Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the CIS Executive Committee, other Russian, British and international organizations.

Rinat Kuramshin’s works can be found in museums, corporate and private collections in Russia, Great Britain, France and other countries.
